AXIS#.MOTOR.RSOURCE
Description
This parameter defines the type of source channel used to connect the motor thermal resistor, if one is present. The thermal resistor may be connected to the drive using a discrete wire or digital feedback channel:
AXIS#.MOTOR.RSOURCE | Connection Type |
---|---|
0 | Discrete wire |
1 | Digital feedback |
If AXIS#.MOTOR.RSOURCE = 0, the temperature sensor A sensor is a type of transducer that converts one type of energy into another for various purposes including measurement or information transfer is wired directly from the motor to the drive, and the drive calculates the temperature from the measured resistance.
If AXIS#.MOTOR.RSOURCE = 1, the temperature calculation happens at the feedback device A process whereby some proportion of the output signal of a system is passed (fed back) to the input. In automation, a device coupled to each motor to provide indication of the motor's shaft angle, for use in commutating the motor and controlling its speed and position and the temperature is provided to the drive using the feedback interface. The following feedback types support the digital temperature channel:
- SFD Gen 2
- SFD Gen 3
- HIPERFACE DSL
- EnDat Digital

This parameter is automatically configured for Kollmorgen motors when AXIS#.MOTOR.AUTOSET=1 and motor memory version is 0.4 or greater. This parameter can be modified while AXIS#.MOTOR.AUTOSET = 1 if its AXIS#.MOTOR.DISAUTOSET index = 1.
If AXIS#.MOTOR.AUTOSET = 0, the user may set AXIS#.MOTOR.RSOURCE. However, if the value is set to 1 and the feedback does not support a digital temperature channel, the drive computes the temperature using the discrete connection method.
